Meet Roxanne PereiraMSW
Roxanne Pereira has 15 years of clinical assessment and treatment experience in private and public practice. She provides evidence-based treatment appropriate to each individual client and/or family. Her expertise and training includes treatment for depression, anxiety, addictions, low self-esteem, bullying, childhood abuse, trauma, and family conflict. She has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-focussed practice, Narrative therapy, Systems theory, and Structural therapy. Roxanne is trained to conduct insurance return to work plans and provide case management and evident-based treatment. She has a particular interest in courage, vulnerability, worthiness, and shame-reduction work of Dr. Brené Brown. Roxanne is passionate about helping youth, adults, and families work towards wellness by forming a empathic therapeutic relationship and developing a treatment plan to achieve their own unique goals.
Roxanne has a Masters of Social Work degree with a clinical specialization from the University of Calgary and is a Registered Social Worker in the province of Alberta. She has worked in forensic mental health practice for many years with youth, adults, and families. She has provided treatment for sexual offences, violent offences (including intimate partner violence), and property crimes. In private practice she has provided therapy for a wide variety of individuals and families as well as conducted child custody assessments, parenting assessments, and foster and adoptive home studies. She has provided supervision to both graduate (masters level) and undergraduate level students from the University of Calgary. Roxanne enjoys giving professional workshops and has spoken on a variety of topics such as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, sexual offender assessment and treatment, family assessment, and family violence. She is an approved provider for Veteran’s Affairs Canada (VAC) and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and has direct billing with Alberta Blue Cross Insurance.
