Meet Dr. Andrew CarlquistClinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice)
Andrew Carlquist, Psy.D. C.Psych. (Supervised Practice) is a registered clinical psychologist in Ontario specializing in working with uniformed service personnel, and has extensive experience working with military veterans. He uses cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapies for a wide range of concerns including trauma and operational stress injuries, moral injury, mood disorders, substance use disorders, interpersonal and relationship stress, bereavement and grief (especially after suicide), and health behaviour change. He is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and has specialized training in Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, CBT for insomnia, and CBT for chronic pain. Andrew takes a person-centred, evidence-based approach with clients to identify areas for growth, develop an individualized understanding of problems and goals, and tailor solutions to fit their unique life experiences.
Andrew completed his doctoral training at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA and trained in CBT at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Cognitive Therapy. He completed his predoctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the US Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System.
