Meet Dr. Maryam GholamrezaeiPsychologist (Supervised Practice)
Maryam holds a PhD. in Counselling Psychology from McGill University and is currently in the process of registering with the College of Psychologists of Ontario for her supervised practice. Maryam takes an integrative and client-centered approach to therapy that is tailored to the clients’ needs.
Maryam has formal training and experience in a variety of modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Maryam is skilled in treatment of a wide range of psychological concerns such as anger, anxiety, depression, self-criticism, perfectionism, relationship issues, trauma, as well as PTSD. Also, she recently completed a training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) by Dr. Megan McElheran regarding working with traumatic experience and operational stress injuries (OSI) that can develop among first responders.
Prior to joining WGM, Maryam’s experience has included working in a variety of settings from hospital mental health outpatient to university counselling centre and private practice.
